The Art of Staying Flexible During Difficult Times

Every day at Horizon Homes, we are being asked if our builds are affected by COVID-19.

So far, we have been fortunate that construction is an “essential industry” in Australia. So, we are very much open for business! We have been able to manage our supply chains well, and there are no delays with materials at this time.

Being a small, boutique builder has allowed Horizon Homes to be agile and adapt quickly to the changes in workplace safety to allow us to keep building during COVID-19.

We book trades into each build site individually, so there is time and space to get the job done safely. Our workers hands have never been so clean, with increased hand washing and sanitising.

We have also embraced technology, meeting with staff and clients virtually to discuss builds and designs.

Our office staff is still working hard, both from the office and remotely from home.

Each part of the business has adapted quickly to the new way of doing business.

Using Time Wisely

A positive aspect of this challenging time is that our clients now have the luxury of more time. They are able to consider their design choices in greater detail.

We have also been using shared Ideabooks on the Houzz website, which allows clients to place inspirational photos of interiors and exteriors into a private shared file. We have been using this tool for a while, to ensure we are in sync with our clients’ preferred style. But clients are using this website even more during this time of home isolation.

After closing our display home at Kellyville for a time, many of the homes in the Homequest Luxury Home Display Village are now reopening, but following strict protocols. Horizon Homes will reopen our display home from Saturday 2 May. There is no need to make an appointment – we will be there from 11am-4pm daily.

It goes without saying that we’ll be asking visitors to abide by social distancing guidelines. If you are unwell, please delay your visit until you are symptom free.

We are still able to set up one on one appointments with our suppliers, so our clients can still look at their choices in person when necessary.

While COVID-19 is certainly presenting many challenges, Horizon Homes is still building. We keep moving forward, adapting quickly and we continue to build beautiful homes for comfortable living.
